Seven hotel projects shortlisted for the European AHEAD Awards 2017 – include Kaldewei bathroom solutions

    The AHEAD awards - of which Kaldewei are a proud sponsor of - recognises exceptional hospitality experience and design which are synonymous with outstanding international hotel architecture.

    Among the contenders, of the AHEAD awards in London, are seven hotel projects featuring baths or shower surfaces made from superior steel enamel from German specialist Kaldewei. London, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands were among the locations for these very different shortlisted hotels, but all celebrated creativity, innovation and excellence in one or more of the AHEAD architecture or interior design categories.

    Coinciding with the Sleep hotel exhibition in London, the award ceremony takes place next month, on the 20th November 2017 in London. Hosted by Sleeper Magazine, the world's leading publication for hotel design, AHEAD comprises of four annual, regional awards schemes run over a two year period, culminating in a global biennale. Throughout 2017 and 2018 awards ceremonies in Miami, Dubai and Singapore will celebrate the most outstanding new hospitality projects in each region. The awards are entered, judged and attended by leading hotel owners, developers, operators, architects and designers from around the world.

    In the “Lobby and Public Spaces” category, Roomers, in Baden, Germany, (featuring eight Kaldewei Puro Duo bathtubs, six Asymmetric Duo bathtubs and one Meisterstueck Centro Duo bathtub) and Gleneagles in Scotland, (featuring 30 Cayono Bathtubs and 14 Scona Shower Surfaces with anti-slip) were both nominated in this prestigious category. Known throughout the world, Gleneagles, was the host venue for the G8 summit of world leaders in 2005 and golf’s 2014 Ryder Cup. The 850-acre Gleneagles estate offers an unrivalled array of attractions that includes a five-star luxury hotel, three championship golf courses and an award-winning spa.

    Other shortlisted projects that incorporate Kaldewei bathroom solutions are; the Park Hyatt, Mallorca, Spain in the “The Landscaping and Outdoor Spaces” category. The Park Hyatt was the first Hyatt Hotel in Mallorca and offers unparalleled elegance with luxuriously appointed rooms and suites. One hour’s drive from Palma with majestic views over the Canyamel Valley, guestrooms feature spacious private balconies and equally generous 80 Classic Duo bathtubs 180 x 75cm with full anti-slip, and 16 Classic Duo Oval, from Kaldewei in the bathrooms.     Shortlisted in the coveted “Resort Hotel“ category, Lanserhof Lans, Austria features 27 Superplan shower surfaces with anti-slip finish, from Kaldewei. The Lanserhof resort has been a leader in Europe thanks to its holistic approach to naturopathy and modern medicine. The Lanserhof is embedded in a breath-taking, almost untouched Alpine landscape and the architecture seamlessly integrates into the surrounding nature.     Le Spa du Royal at Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa – Lausanne, Switzerland, featuring 60 Duo Pool bathtubs in pearl effect and the already multi-award winning The Lanesborough Club and Spa in London and are nominated in the “Spa & Wellness” category. The Lanesborough is the only London hotel to offer round-the-clock, dedicated butler service in each room and is home to the Michelin-starred Céleste restaurant, an award-winning afternoon tea service. The finishing touch on the hotel's masterpiece renovation has been the unveiling of the exclusive Lanesborough Club & Spa, London's breath-taking new fitness and health destination, open exclusively to members and hotel guests.     Other categories include; “The Hotel Renovation and Restoration” and the Pulitzer in Amsterdam, Netherlands was nominated, featuring 23 Cayono bathtubs with anti-slip finish, from Kaldewei.
