With the year drawing to a close the industry looks ahead to 2014. This month, Inex is delighted to present an entire issue dedicated to keeping you abreast of emerging hues for the new year, helping you to deliver projects that ooze sophistication with innovation.

Highlights from this issue include Paul Barratt from Karndean Designflooring discussing why attitudes towards ceramic and porcelain floor tiles are shifting within the commercial sector. Read his flooring recommendations on page 20. Also, with so many kitchen storage solutions now available choosing the right option may seem a daunting task. Häfele UK’s Kerry Baulch explains which options work best for different kitchen spaces on page 30.

Sustainability is a hot topic for interior design as eco-friendly products continue to appear on the market. I recently had the pleasure of talking to sanitary fittings specialists Grohe’s Senior Vice President of Design, Paul Flowers, and Managing Director, Maha El Khabortly. We had an interesting discussion about how sustainable attitudes are embedded within our European neighbour’s cultures and that the UK could learn so much from them. Sustainability need not seem a battle or even something that you need to pay more for. Read about how Grohe approaches sustainability on page 12.

Being the time of year to look back, on behalf of the Inex team I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our valued readership, for your support with the launch of Inex this year, and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
