Online homeware brand Loaf is a one-stop shop for the home offering beautiful beds, snug sofas, stylish furniture and gorgeous accessories that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. The predominantly online business was launched in December 2008 by entrepreneur Charlie Marshall and was originally named The Sleep Room.
Having lost a whole Saturday trying to buy a bed, Charlie decided to make the shopping experience as quick and hassle free as possible. So two years, 187 mattress factories and some seriously comfy beds later, the homeware brand was born. While most were waiting for the financial markets to improve, Charlie saw the financial downturn as the ideal time to launch a business responding to consumers’ demand for high quality, well designed goods at lower prices.
The latest from Loaf.
Loaf has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK, proving that there are a lot of people out there who share the same love of great value, gorgeous things. Having covered the bedroom, last year they decided to move into all other areas of the home. The Sleep Room needed a new name so on 1st October 2012 the switch was made to Loaf with absolutely everything else remaining the same. Same company. Same people. Same customer service.
Loaf is cheaper, faster and less hassle than the high street. Some may think it’s a bit risky buying a bed, sofa or furniture online as a range of options should really be tried out first-hand. Well, that’s true if a vast range of varying quality is being looked at. But if you’re anything like the team at Loaf, you just want something that looks nice, is well made, is good value and, most importantly, is really comfortable. And you don’t want to wait ages or pay through the nose for it. Loaf has a lovely showroom-style space at the foot of Notting Hill where customers can come and jump around on the beds and see the full collection up close.
Loaf’s ethos is to make the customer experience as fuss-free as possible: delivering at a convenient time, installing the new piece of furniture and taking away the packaging. They can even take away your old bed, mattress or sofa for a small fee.
Loaf is getting even bigger. They have now branched out into all areas of the home including designs for the kitchen and bathroom. In March 2013 they launched over 150 gorgeous new pieces from kitchen tables and chairs, coffee tables, side tables and floor rugs, to bathroom furniture and a kids’ furniture range. And a load more comfy beds and sofas too! In March 2014 they expanded yet again with their first office furniture, kitchen accessories and tableware collections.
