The September 2018 edition of Inex.

So often in the design world, we discuss the launch of new and innovative products – we’re always looking for the latest trend, the next big thing. But sometimes it’s the reissuing of a product that we need to shout about.

John and Sylvia Reid were once pioneers in furniture design and they’re set to become household names again. Sylvia Reid, who is now in her 90s, has given the go-ahead to her son Dominic Reid to oversee the reissue of their iconic S-Range, designed in 1960.

This month, Inex was lucky enough to speak to Sylvia and discuss her career over the years, how she became a furniture designer in the first place and find out what advice she’d give to budding designers trying to burst onto the scene. Turn to page 24 for a truly insightful interview.

Elsewhere in this colourful issue, Dulux Trade unveils its colour of the year on page 80, BHDM Design reveals a boutique hotel that’s had an injection of neon on page 86 and Style Library Contract discusses how modern murals are beginning to blur the lines between art and storytelling, on page 71.

I hope you enjoy this edition. Don’t forget, you can also access all of Inex’s features and product inspiration at your fingertips via the magazine’s state-of-the-art app. To download your version free of charge, simply search ‘Inex-online’ on the App Store or Google play.
